Since the regulation of the advice profession
in
Australia a
Registered Migration Agent (RMA) must have formal qualifications
and
training in
Migration,
Immigration Law Regulations.
An
RMA will
be experienced and skilled in
visa and
migration issues and
it is important that a person who wishes to come to Australia has as much
knowledge as possible about Australian immigration procedures.
Migration regulations are complex and
are constantly changing. The
Migration Act 1958, for example, states what the law is in relation to
immigration,
however DIAC has to develop and apply a policy, which can deal in a practical way
with the many problems which can arise.
These policy guidelines are obviously based on what the law states, however,
interpretations of the policy can affect the way in which such
law is interpreted. RMA's must keep up-to-date about policy and legislative changes by completing CPD (continuing professional development)
study each year and by keeping an up-to-date professional library.
An RMA
needs to know the client’s whole circumstances,
they do not just only fill forms;
they give professional advice about immigration
requirements.
An RMA will
assess
and advise
a client and prepare and manage the
entire
visa application
process.
Even the
most simple
visa
application
can take
hours to compile
and complete.
In order to
make a valid
visa application an
RMA has to
make enquiries, accumulate
evidence, prepare documentation, and communicate with
the
relevant government bodies.
Moving to another country
should be an exciting and enriching experience for you, but it will take some
time to adjust to your new way of life .
Take the stress out of the visa
application process by using an RMA.
